IP67 Pump Application
Watertight Motor Series — IP67 Pump Application
We have successfully completed another project using our IP67 watertight motor series, designed for operation in environments where exposure to water is not incidental, but expected.
This delivery included four (4) motors, each rated at 132 kW, 4 poles, in V1 vertical configuration, intended for pump applications installed in proximity to a river.
Technical Overview
-
Quantity: 4 units
-
Power: 132 kW
-
Poles: 4
-
Mounting: V1 (vertical, shaft down)
-
Protection: IP67
-
Application: Pump systems in flood-prone environment
Design Considerations
Installations near water sources introduce conditions that exceed standard industrial protection requirements. These motors were engineered to withstand temporary submersion while not in operation, ensuring continuity and readiness once normal conditions are restored.
Key design features include:
-
Extended sealing surfaces for enhanced ingress protection
-
Tight machining tolerances across all critical interfaces
-
Precision assembly of high-quality components
-
Protection against moisture ingress during standstill conditions
In such environments, reliability is not defined only by performance during operation, but also by resilience during exposure.
Operational Readiness
A defining characteristic of these motors is their ability to remain fully functional after exposure to water. Following submersion, and once water levels recede, the units are designed to return to service immediately, without the need for disassembly or intervention.
Projects like this reflect a broader engineering approach:
designing not only for nominal conditions, but for real-world variability.
